Is the section of the frame on the bottom of the rear door of a SL2 Saturn part of the unibody?

check strength, of area ,see if metal is totally rusted through,if its still solid throughout,you can if you want to stop the rusting sand area and spray ospho on it-it turns rust back to metal and preps area for glazeing then touch up paint , dont forget to tape and paper compleatly around inside door frame or you will have a bad mess inside car, check under seat also, stop rust any time you see it starting ,if the metal is bad it could be replaced from a cut out section from a junk car and welded in, the frame work of the body usually sits on top of the chassis so I doubt that your car is going to snap in half (lol)

Oh P.S. I had a friend with a saturn and told him to change,so heres a good tip for you ,change your oil to eather semi senthetic oil ,or if you can afford the money each time fully senthetic like he did after finding out what semi senthetic did for it (if you change to this one you can never go back to reg oils ) and you will find not only much better gas mile'dge but a bit more power and a smoother motor these motors seem to love the stuff,,,you'll be thanking me later !

Rust sucks! I agree with "Harry" regarding the ospho. Products like POR-15 work really well. Just to be safe, have a qualified autobody repair shop evaluate the extent of the corrosion. They should be able to assist you, for litttle to no money, in determining if it's a "do it yourself" repair or you need professional help.

Thank you both for your input. I will take it to a person who does professional body work to get their opinion and go from there. It's nice to know it's probably not going to break in half like the the luv bug did:)
