I believe there may be a drain/fill plug on the differential. It would probably just be a bolt threaded into the trans, or an allen-head screw. Unscrewing it should allow you to insert a finger and check for fluid level. If fluid is up to your finger, you're OK. Primitive, but this is how it works on rear axles when checking them.

You could do that...but there should be a red dipstick in the close proximity of the oil dipstick (yellow). Obviously you can check the fluid levels there. As for filling it up you can check for what he was saying, or you can get an elongated funnel and just fill her up where you pull the dipstick out.

It depends on the year. My 2002 Sc1 5 speed doesn't have a dipstick to check the trans fluid. But years might. Like I said, it depends on the year... maybe even the model. I also have a 2009 Aura, and it too, does not have a dipstick to check the transmission fluid.
