Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm working on a 2006 Mercury Montego. Customer said A/C was blowing warm. I brought it into the shop and put gauges on it and pressures were in the normal ranger and A/C was blowing cold. After about a minute or two the blower stopped. The blower comes on and goes off in 15 to 30 second cycles. The blower motor has power all the time and the control module controls the ground. I tried a new module with the same result. Can anybody give me some good advise as to where the problem lies?

I just put a stop watch on this and it quit after 15 seconds, it restarted 15 seconds later and ran for 5 seconds, stopped for 15 seconds and repeats the 5 second 15 second thing continuously.

Its the 50 d0llar ac control unit located in the side of the compressor. . You can replace with a 10 mm wrench while still on the car but you must evac the system first and then recharge the ac when done.

Customer wasn't concerned with blower motor operation. Did find that the high pressure cycling switch was causing the compressor to shut down. Replaced the switch, problem solved.
