Vehicle in limp mode shows no oil pressure that runs fine

2007 Tahoe 5.3 with about 240,000 miles
on it driving down the road vehicle
automatically went into her instantly went
into limp mode shut it off we started it
showed no oil pressure I'll chime in light
came on now have put a new oil pressure
sensor into it and it shows still no oil
pressure still in limp mode but runs
beautiful as far as sitting there and I don't
like any thoughts I've also put a new
Excelerator pedal positioning sensor in

If its showing no pressure you need to check the oil. If the oil is okay, remove the pan and check the oil pump. The same thing happened to me and my oil pump had fallen off
Check oil pressure with manual gauge, check when cold and see if pressure drops as it heats up to normal operating temperature, you may be due for a new engine at 240k miles
My gauge is pegged at 80psi, sometimes when I hit a bump it'll drop to 0psi and my dash will chime low oil pressure then it'll go back to being pegged at 80. When the ignition is off its at 0 start it immediately go to 80.. ??????
These oil pressure issues with Chevy engines come up just about everyday on Car Gurus. I would install an aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge so I knew what the oil pressure really is.

Just replace oil sending unit. It's located on top of the engine block between intake manifold and firewall on driver's side. U'll need an 1 1/16" socket to remove it
Going to save you a lot of headach. 1) change to thicker oil and new oil filter. See if the helps. 2) since you are getting oil pressure when driving fast, it's not the oil pump. Change out the oils sending unit. See if this helps. 3) oil pan area. Change or clean out oil pick up screen. See if this helps. 4) check your oil guage cluster to see if it's working correctly. See if this helps. 5) here's the bad news of all else fails than it's your worn out cam bearings. Meaning engine rebuild. If you know somebody you can get it done cheap like I did or you can spend more than the price of your cars worth. That's all to it. I went through all of them and finally got it fixed. 2005 Tahoe with 200,000 miles on it.

Putting my answer here because this thread seems to hit on Google every time I search Yukon and Limp Mode in the same sentence... I've had my 2012 Yukon XL Denali 100k miles at the dealer for a week now. Symptoms were dropping into limp mode with traction control lights on a few weeks ago, but the problem disappeared a few hours later. Then a week ago it dropped into limp mode on my wife with traction control off and stabilitrak off this time. When I got home it didnt want to start and when it did it was also reading 0 oil pressure and scrolling a message to shut the engine down. Dealer first thought it was the Engine Control Module, swapped it with no success, then after all week of testing wires and working with the HQ engineers at GM they isolated the problem in the harness for the Camshaft Position Sensor as well as the sensor itself... fingers crossed this was the actual problem for a long term fix.
