2007 Chevy Tahoe with no power

Asked by Reginald Nov 09, 2017 at 10:39 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Prior to pulling this battery it started the Tahoe with no problems, I pulled the
battery to try and start another truck but it didn’t work. it didn’t have enough
cranking power it was F150 2007. So I put the battery back in the Tahoe but
installed it backwards, I realized the terminals were crossed after they were on
and when I tried to remove the positive cable the terminal sparked. I had a
small ratchet extension in the same hand, I figured it touched the terminal.
After disconnecting both terminals I put a meter on the battery, 24volts so it
seemed ok, but the Tahoe is totally dead, no lights inside or out side, will not
turn over or start, dead as dead, makes no sound at all. I checked the fuses
under the hood in the main fuse box with a meter and they are good. There is
a fusible bus bar near the battery on the engine rear wall and it seemed to be
ok. I’m at a lost, any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful.

My brother actually checked it, I assumed it was 24 volts. He did say the battery was good however.
