Transmission

Asked by TonyG6 Dec 02, 2018 at 02:13 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Trailblazer with 135000 miles on it. I
have never changed the transmission fluid. I
checked it today, it was full, nice red color, and did
not smell burnt. Can I still do a fluid exchange with
the current mileage, or is there an additive I can
put in it?
Thanks for your input.

I would change it and skip the additive if you have no transmission issues.

Don't do a flush!! Just change the filter and replace lost fluid with Dex 6. If you do a flush, say goodbye to your tranny very prematurely. You have the 4L60E tranny like most of us do, a full flush will introduce brand new detergents to the seals, not good. Don't do any additives, just introduce Dex 6 which is GM's replacement for Dex 3, yes you can add the 6 to the 3.
