what lights turn on? what do they look like?
Traction control, abs, temp, security lock, oil light and any light in the dash. I feel like it is pulling too much power from the motor.
What about speed 5? Speed 5 is not run off the resistor like 1-4, which is pointing back to the resistor that was replaced. Were the pigtails replaced too? Those will melt also.
Pigtails were fine now wondering if it might be the tempature control module in the dash.
I had a similar problem with my '03 Envoy a few years back so I will share my experience in hopes that it will help someone save tons of money and time trying to track down the problem. So my Envoy started having a lot of battery issues, basically dying at random times, which got more and more frequent. We checked the alternator, battery, and everything in between. I eventually replaced the alternator, replaced the battery twice, cables, etc. Each time the battery died, when it got jumped again (or was disconnected and reconnected for testing or replacement, it would cause random electrical issues to occur, as if the power surge cause by recharging or reconnecting the battery was short circuiting the brain, each time in a different way, causing various electrical systems to malfunction and various warning lights to come on because of it (ie; instrument panel, CD player, motor cycling/idol issues, air intake was loud, gauges failed (fuel, speedometer, odometer, etc) and the next time it happened something might self-correct. It was like playing musical errors and my dash was sometimes lit up like a Christmas tree from all the warning lights going on and off as well. On one occasion the CD player stopped working, then the next time i had to jump the battery it started working again. It was maddening. One of the malfunctions that started randomly occuring during that time was the air intake was weird/loud. My motor would sound like I had a blower under my hood, very loud and windy, as if an air hose was disconnected, but it wasn't the case. I also started having low idol issues, which seemed to be affected by whether my air/defrost was running or not. When it was turned on, my idol would drop, sometimes causing the engine to die. Anyways I bought the biggest, strongest, battery I could put in my car and then did some research and found out that the OnStar system, even when not being used, can cause a power drain issue so I had it disconnected. It seemed to fix the battery issue but now I was dealing with the air/intake/engine problem getting worse. Eventually I could barely drive my SUV without it dying so I had it towed to the shop yet again and while waiting for the results of their inspection, I found a forum talking about the issue, explaining that every time the battery dies (or is disconnected and reconnected or replaced etc), when the power/brain starts up again it tries to reset everything to the original factory default settings, which is not compatible with an older motor would run, so the incompatibility causes the motor to struggle and run rough, esp due to air intake etc, which then sets off all kinds of sensors and warning lights. This conflict between the brain and motor can manifest in many ways, causing us to chase the symptoms, and in my case it caused the idol to drop and eventually it would barely stay running. Anyways so long story long, the suggestion on that forum I found was rediculously simple. It just said to have someone manually clean the throttle body, which cleans out something that allows the motor to run closer to what the brain wants it to, which causes them to cooperate and the issue should resolve. So after the mechanic finished inspecting my car and didn't have a clue what was wrong, said he would need to do (another) more in- depth diagnostic on it, for $200. I said no, I've already done that, twice before. I told him what I read and asked him to just humor me and clean the throttle body. Of course this became a group conversation in the shop with all the mechanics chiming in, with no one having heard of this "known issue". Clearly they thought I was just another clueless girl using the internet to self diagnose q complicated problem that only a seadoned expert would be able to figure out. Well they did what I asked and my Envoy started right up and purred like a kitten. It wouldn't even stay running when I first got there, and not one issue since. Needless to say they were surprised. I only whish I had found that article before I spent all kinds of money something so cheap and easy to fix. Anyways sorry for the long story but it was a layered problem that all started because of a dead battery and turned into an electrical and financial nightmare. If I can help just one person avoid this situation then all the time it took to type this will be worth it. Here's the link to the information I found that day explaining the issue without all the annoying details lol. Good luck! https://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php? t=9490#/topics/9490?page=1
That you it was very helpful. Funny thing is I changed out the throttle body already and it didn't change anything. But I will pull it out again and see if maybe something got hung up in it. Thank you again!!

I am having the same problem. I tried changing the blower motor resister with no luck. I saw a YouTube video stating that the problem is in the ignition switch. Please let me know if u were able to figure it out. Thanks
