There should be a return spring in your steering column. It has either come loose or broke entirely. If you feel confident, tear down the upper end of the steering column to locate it and repair/replace. Be careful and respect the airbag module - disconnect the battery first and then remove the module before digging into the inside of the column.
I own a 2007 Pontiac Solstice and when I make a turn or back up, I hear a screeching/scrapping noise. None of the Mechanics know why. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
