Does anyone find water in the spare tire compartment in the winter and if so how did you fix it

find where the water is coming in, usually the back hatch weatherstrippingis worn, cut or ripped, new weatherstripping should solve the problem.....

it only happens in the winter with the snow and slush..never does it when it rains

maybe theres a hole in the undercarraige and snow and slush is thrown into car by tires....

this problem started the first year we got it

Its a problem with a lot of THE Torrents & Equinoxs. Pontiac has an issue with the gasketing around the hatch, GM issued a bulletin (Not a recall) regarding this. I pushed this issue and got part of the repair at the dealer paid for. My problem wasnt specific to winter though, I had the problem even when it rained.
