Subaru impreza 2.5 rs

Question type: Car Customization

I have a subaru impreza 2006 my motor is done
and i wanted to know how complicated it would be
to put a turbo motor in it , i thought i could just get
a same year wrx sti motor and drop it in but from
what ppl have told me so far is that its alot harder
than it sounds , so what turbo motor would fit it ?
Or would it be better to just put the same kind of
motor in it that it has now ?

Yes it is a lot harder than it sounds. You would be money ahead by just buying a WRX. Not only cheaper but you get the whole package including the suspension, not just the engine.

Since your car is 13 years old compare the cars value to the cost of a new engine.

Ive actually got a couple of quotes from places , one sells me the same motor that it has for 1500 and it has 150k almost as much as the car has right now , another sells me that same engine for 2200 amd it has 100k miles less than the first and ive checked with the same resourses about buying the turboed motor but they tell me its possible but certain things wont work on the car properly , they dint specify tho , im actually leaning to just getting the engine it has already tho just wanna get some feedback from someone that knows more than i do cause i know my fare share but this is the first subi ive had

How about the installation costs to go with those engine prices? Installing a turbo engine involves the exhaust, wiring, ECU and the intercooler. Not an easy (or cheap) job. Go on the nasioc forums if you want to proceed.

If you do it yourself you could put a small block v8 with a 700r tranny all for less than a WRX
