look on the underhood for signs of a prior overheat...listen to the main bearings and valves...smell the exhaust to see if it smells like a tired motor~....personally seems a little steep...the upholstery would have to be leather, the sound system deluxe and the tires brand new with a correct alignment,,,doesn't swim (except torque steer which is virtually non-existent in a 4wd subu) no evidence of accidents or prior overheats...I'd make 'em come down to $4500~

crikey, just how trouble free miles are we expecting here...the main wheel bearings wear out if they are not methodically greased...the axles ain't gonna stand for 200,000 at the very least the boots will have to be replaced if it isn't sounding clakity like a helicopter---these cars are more like scientific instruments and need to be respected....if it has been respected (look in the glovebox for service record) he'd have a leg to stand on...whatcha do is ask him to have it serviced changing the axles and timing belt(s) power steering....the 100,000 mile check up where they'll change the windshield wipers and all bulbs...then we'll talk.~
I would ask to see the maintenance records on this car and inspect it closely for unusual wear. At this mileage, it's all about condition. Any hesitation and I would look elsewhere. Actually, if you have the $5,200 in cash and don't mind making car payments, look for a 2010 model.
