Engine rebuild specs?

Asked by Jimmoccio Mar 22, 2021 at 11:08 AM about the 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5i Wagon AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m going to rebuild a ceased engine on my
2006 Subaru Outback . It’s a 2.5 SOHC
engine . My question is to what extent should
I go with it ? Shaved heads , piston cylinders ,
etc . Also how can I find the torque specs on
engine bolts ?

Get a rebuild manual. What you do will in part depend on how worn the engine is.

How is your engine "ceased"? Or do you mean "seized"? Perhaps through a rod? If bottom end is damaged do NOT rebuild, but chase a nice used one. You'll be better off in the long run.
