I have a 2007 manual ford fusion and it ran out of gas earlier today. When I came back with gas 30 mins later, the car would not start. The dash lights would just flicker on and off. Any ideas?

I thought maybe the battery was dead but I'm not too sure about it. I did try jumping it for a short while but it would not turn over. Should I try to jump it again or have it towed?

Sometimes running out of gas burns up the fuel pump. The gas is the coolant. It may have burnt up and created a short that drained your battery, causing a double problem. Just a theory...a guess.. but happens all the time. Have it towed.
