My car won't crank or start

At first it would just click then after awhile it
wouldn't do nothing

I have a 2006 Buick Lucerne V8 motor new starter and battery good no corrosion on cables.. you goto crank it and it just clicks and wont jump off?

no one weighs in on talks about these issues in this lucerne, I think I'm going to just try to use the hot wire to starter method... on my newer Subaru it doesn't work like that though") hopefully this old Cadillac engine will, one of my main concerns is crank issues, no fuel pumps are of concern only where is the neutral safety switch you know?, on the ole 99 Mercury Villager it was there. seems like what it needed was support on the crank issue, simplest in that fashion...
