Van doesn't start

Asked by Kd6907 May 24, 2014 at 11:42 PM about the 1999 Chrysler Town & Country Limited LWB AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My van doesn't start, after it has had a lot of resent work done. New starter,
alternator, wires, plugs, radiator, hoses, thermostat, fuel rail, fuel pump and filter, with a new
battery It was up and running after sitting for a year, but not as smooth as it had been
before it was put up. so the idle control valve was changed, thinking that would smooth it
out. but since that was done it doesn't want to start.

Turns over but does not start? If so I would but old iac back on and try to start it. I have gotten several bad new iac right out of the box.

thanks , tried that to and it started a few times and did the same thing. it went right back to not starting. It seems that the piston inside the I.A.C. extends all the way out and it seems to cut of the air flow. What regulates the I.A.C. ?

http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-3734.htm -- are you sure plug wires are installed correctly. Might want to double check them. Also did you remove all the old gas out of tank and replace it with new gas. If not I would start there. Gas now days goes bad easy and will cause all sorts of condensation issues in the fuel system.
