Is it common to hear whining noise in 2007 v-6 after it gets warmed up?

The whine sounds like a torque convertor.

I found my problem of whining noise to be in the alternator, It increased with the rpm's. I found the noise with a mechanics stethoscope whitch you can get at auto supply stores. Hope this helps someone. alexbb
