Car Moves when in N(Neutral)

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My Dad owns a Nissan Altima 2007 2.5S (4-Speed Auto). He recently noticed that when
the gear is in N(Neutral) the car still moves. The other gears are working as usual. It would
be really helpful if I can get to know why this is happening.

Now only the reverse gear is working. None of the other gears are working. Car does not move forward.I'm afraid that I may need to overhaul the transmission.
either the linkage is off or internal failure. ps it does not have a 4 speed auto it has a cvt. bring it to the dealer and they'll be able to figure it out.
#Robert, I live in the middle east. Here the 2007 Altima comes with a 4- Speed Auto( Same as the 2006 Altima). Here only 2008 onward models has a CVT. Anyway thanks for your answer. Could you tell me more about the Linkage Pls. I have no mechanical knowledge.
IT SHOULD BE ON TOP OF TRANS BELOW BATTERY AND AIR FILTER BOX. IF IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S NOT SLIPPING FROM IT'S ORIGINAL POSITION I'D LOOK AT GETTING A TRANS SHOP TO PRESSURE TEST YOUR TRANNY.
I have a 2018 Nissan Altima I put the car in reverse it drives I put the car in neutral it drives it has no reverse
