can I turn off enging braking mode off on my Altima 2007

Engine Braking Mode can be disabled on your '07 Altima. It involves reprogramming the CVT controller. It's tricky and should be performed by a qualified Nissan Technician who is familiar with using the CONSULT-III OBD interface. The CONSULT-III tool alone costs around $1300.
