Engine for 07 maxima
Asked by Elisa Mar 29, 2017 at 06:54 AM about the 2007 Nissan Maxima SL
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
A month after I bought my 07
Maxima my car overheated and
the next day it overheated very
quickly and wouldn't start again.
Now when I try to start it it sounds
like a drill or an electric
screwdriver just turning. I've been
told I need a new engine, my
question is can I put an engine
from a 04 Maxima in an 07
Maxima?

Battery might be bad or discharged. Engine could be seized.
I don't think its battery...It got extremely hot, extremely fast ,I parked it at first possible/safe place, & turned it off, & hasn't started since. Battery is good, put BRAND NEW starter in 3 days prior to this...I had to put water in radiator more than once, but it had just started this crap 1 day before it crapped out. .. Could it be a cracked head or blown gasket?
Also, what about timing belt? That's first thing I thought it was when it was sounding like an electric screwdriver when I tried starting it...
Pretty difficult to solve via the internet. Get it to someone that can diagnose it properly.
