Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 Nissan Murrano when inserting the key will not turn. I have tried
depressing the break and hard turning the steering wheel. This only locked my
steering wheel, now I am not able to turn the steering wheel.

Mine turned out to be ignition control module. Not a DIY solution, requires a computer To diagnose, and then the new module must be coded to match the ECM and BCM and the key fob. Good news is it was under $500 to fix

We just had this happen to us stuck at a store until I googled it and the trick to it was to turn steering wheel back and forth while turning the ignition back and forth..as soon as the steering wheel unlocked we could turn key.
