Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 Pontiac G6 Convertible ( 3900 engine ) wont start ... the security light on the dash is lite for no reason .... towed it  to the GM dealership .. and after hours of screwing around .. they say I need a new computer ... how can this be possible when the car ran perfect the day before ? Any ideas on what to do .. any one else have this problem ??

I have a friend that has a G6 and the same problem happened to him, out of no where the computer went. It happens !

Thanks .. turned out it was the key starter module in the trunk ... 4 hours labour at 100 bucks an hour to find the problem and its still not fixed yet ... ya think GM would have better equipment / computers to find the friggin problem - never again
