Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I need to know how to route my serpentine belt on my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix (base model), but I need to skip the power steering pulley (pump went out and cant change it at this time.)
How long of a belt would I need, and how do I route it?

I rather doubt that is possible. At the minimum you would need a shorter belt and there is a safety issue as your steering ability will be seriously compromised. It is better to do it right!
They should have a diagram showing how to under the hood. I don't think you will be able to skip the power steering pump pulley though.
Anything can be done as for safty they did it for years b4 power steering was an option and also if car is moving you can steer just fine just take a string and figure out how to route the belt without touching or rubbing on the pump and go buy a belt with the with and legth u need and slap it on they also sell a bypass pully for it if you cant route around they are normally 20 bucks or less
The question was asked 3 years ago so I'm guessing he's got it. Do you even know what a serpentine belt is? Part of the reason that what he wanted to do is impossible is because there is no alternate route. If it was a 1967 Pontiac then no problem, but a 2007...can't be done.
Yea but what about a quick fix. I'm broke down pulley came out of pump so my pump isn't working anyway . Belt jumped off need to know a way to run the belt to get me home ..
I just did it to my 2002 gtp
