Over heating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had the cooling system flushed out, then I put
in a new radiator and a new water pump, but I still
have problems with the car running too hot. Any
other ideas I could try?
Thanks.

I did change the thermostat, I forgot to write that down. The needle on the gauge never hits the red, but it gets very close. I've had this car since new and its never ran this hot before, it started about 6 months ago. I'm now wondering could it have something to do with the heater core. The heat in the car is not hot, so maybe something is going on with the water flow. Obviously I don't work on cars for a living, just trying to figure out what's going on with my car.

Have you had the engine inspected for a possible blown head gasket? are there any codes stored related to a misfire?

I agree with Js08016. Purge the cooling system again to remove trapped air and see what happens.
