How do I remove a fuel pump on a Chevy S10?

Drain the fuel tank, then drop it and pull the fuel pump out of the top.

The easy way is to remove 8 bolts from bed of truck.Disconnect wire's from tail lights .Disconnect filler neck at gas cap door.Call over a buddy ,lift bed up and sit it on the rear wheels.This will give you room to remove pump without dropping the tank.
