Radio display lights fade when it's warm

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2007 Mini Cooper has an issue with the radio display. When it's warm outside, the display fades almost to the point where you can't read the display. None of the other display lights are affected by the heat. No problems during the winter, but the summer months I can't read the radio display at all.

This is very common with Mini Coopers (and other vehicles) that use LCDs for the display. You're likely out of warranty unless you purchased an extended warranty. If you're covered, take it in to be replaced. If you aren't covered under warranty, it's likely to be a costly repair. Expect to pay around $500-900.
I am having the same problem. I hate that it is so costly but at least I know it is a common issue.
