06 Pacifica Stuck Idling High

Asked by Brittany Aug 17, 2019 at 04:46 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Touring AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my 06 Pacifica and it was fine. Then I
got to a red light and all the sudden the car started
idling high and revving like it wanted to take off
even with my foot on the brake. As soon as I lifted
off the brake the car shot off and idled high until I
reached 40mph then drove normally. But as soon
as I started slowing down under 40mph it started
idling high and doing the same thing. The gas
pedal was all the way to the floor without me
touching it. I parked the car and it has been sitting
for a couple weeks now and my battery is
completely dead which is a surprise because it's a
brand new battery. Also my brakes are locked up. I
can't even press the pedal down to start the car.
Pleaseee help!!!!
