Can you take the inside panel off? Try that so you can get to the latch. No latch, no hatch.

I'm glad my '04 came with the more manual latch release. Mom's '05 has the electronic and fortunately, she hasn't had any problems with hers. I would first check the fuse box and then, if a fuse replacement doesn't do it, get inside the hatch and replace the switch. Good luck!

Once the inner back panel is removed, look at the mechanical latch housing at the bottom of the hatch and locate the switch at the back of the latch (see photo). Push the switch to the right to mechanically unlatch the door. This will make removal and replacement of the latch and solenoid (located above the latch) easier.

Where can I find the parts to replace the solenoid and latch

This problem normally occurs when the car is not showing it is in park. It is usually in the linkage for the gear shift. You may be able to wiggle it enough and have somebody in the back and get it open. You're welcome. DLB
