Hot steering column

Asked by Merkiron12 Jan 25, 2019 at 05:37 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Sebring Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 Sebring started to over heat.
I pulled over waited a while and
added some coolant. And finished my
delivery.  Heading now to get more
coolant. But steering column is really
hot. Any idea why? Is it related to
over heating? Air bag light has also
been on for a months.

I would take a look in the engine bay and under the car to make sure an exhaust pipe is not too close to the steering column. Make sure no heat shields have fallen off.

Clearly you should fix the overheating problem before you ruin your engine.
