Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just purchased a 2006 Chrysler Sebring 4 door sedan which has 104k miles. With proper maintnance can this car run for 200k miles?

Change the timing belt, they should be replaced every 80 to 100,000, this will make the engine last longer.
Agree with both Al and Tom, with care and maintenance any modern car can easily surpass 200k. I know several sebrings pushing that, as a matter of fact, the 4dr sebring is a great fleet vehicle, the 2,4L 4 can bring 32 mpg hwy, the 2.7, 28 mpg, @ 200HP. The 2.4L 4 has a timing belt that should be changed at 105K max. I believe the 2.7L has a chain. When changing the belt, have the water pump done as well, it will fail shortly, and you can save on labor and inconvenience. I recommend synthetic oil to reduce sludge formation and improve cold and hot weather performance, the extra cost is justified in my experience.

I have a 2006 Chrysler Sebring Touring sedan. bought it as the second owner in 2007, have had it until now with NO real problems, (minus the winter the squirrels got in and chewed up some wires.) Have only had to change oil, replace tires, tune up, the regular stuff. this is Sept. of 2013 now. Best American car I have owned!
