If thermostat is stuck, you can remove cap on radiator, crank car, thermostat should open in a bout 3 to 5 minute,s,then you should see water circulate through radiator,if not change thermostat first, then see if water circulate,s,if not change your water pump.
If your radiator cap does not seal properly or is loose ... the coolant will go from the the small line beside the cap to the recovery tank. If this problem is recent ... try resealing the cap by removing it and reinstalling ... if no works then get a new cap if your cap is a few years old .... if it's still having the problem then it could be Pump or Thermostat
