How to replace broken hood release cable?

That will either be a dealer item or a junkyard item if you want original equipment. There is little that would likely go wrong with the actual cable. I'm guessing the latch handle inside broke since it is the only plastic part involved. Barring that the only thing that is likely to happen to the actual cable would be a kink...but really not very likely. I would go to a junk yard and get what you need.
