My speedometer fuel gauge and radio are not working I change the battery right before they stopped working I accidentally hooked up the positive and negative leads backwards would that possibly short

Check your main fusible link for the cabin, also check fuses. If you don't have a circuit tester the simplest ones only cost about five dollars and are just a probe with a light bulb in the handle and a wire that you can clip anywhere to the chassis for ground. Both sides of a fuse should light the bulb.. if they don't then the fuse is blown. Its way faster than pulling them all for a visual inspection.
