Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just replaced my blower motor in my 98 Buick
Century Custom and its not turning on. The last
one was screaming when i turned it on so i figured
it needed to be replaced. It actually completely quit
working over the winter with no response to the
controls. What eles can be stoping it from working
now? Im getting nothing from the new one.

Usually it is the blower motor resistor that goes bad. May have fried it with the old blower motor.
Start by running 12 v directly to the motor connection to verify the motor is grounded and runs. Then you can look for the resistor if that car has one...if your car has a heat/ac control that you set a temp and the system keeps it there. you do not have a resistor but a electronic blower module that is probably bad.
Check the ground wire to tje blower with a testor light.attached the lead to a hot wire and touch the ground on the wire to the nlower houseing if iy doesnt light up then its a bad ground.you van then put a small cut to expose the copper wire in the ground run a wire from a good ground source to the exposed wire if the fan runs tjen simply run a new ground wire to the fan houseing
