speed sensor ?

my car will only go forward at about 10  miles an hour. iv replaced the speed sensor 2 times now. the first time it worked for about 15 min and then it started doing the same thing again. could it be something else ?

Why did you replace the"speed sensor" and what are you referencing when you say speed sensor?

my nephew said that was what needed to be changed . so I went to the part store and they sold me a "speed sensor" we found it behind the front passenger tire

The wheel speed sensor, your car has one on each of the front wheels and probably one on each of rear wheels. They have absolutely nothing to do with the cars ability to go forward. They are for ABS, traction control, and sometimes your speedometer. Could be a clogged catalytic converter, could be something in your transmission slipping, what is your engine going while trying to accelerate? See the rpms high or normal, dis the engine shake, does it sputter?
