Have you tried giving the vehicle a jump ? Also try putting vehicle in neutral and try to start. If still no start either bad ignition switch or starter.

I believe the VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) prevents the car from starting. You have to reset the car computer some how.

Clean Yorkie get a fine sandpaper get in between the grooves and on your key or too little prongs towards the bottom of the thick part of the key and that's the security system that engages it make sure that's cleaned out and it will fire right up

I put it in neutral and it started right up. Mine has been doing this and it usually works, don’t know what the main issue is. Maybe a loose cable cause I just change the starter not too long ago

yeh just went thru alot of trouble shooting for 2002 century ...we were going to do starter motor but it bump starts of the solenoid and hot ...we bypassed vats with GATOR bypass ...am thinking its either corosion microscopic layer in between electrical connectorsa and grounds ..sometimes i could start the car and sometimes not ...ois it the relay then is it the battery then is it the neutral safety switch not fully connected underneath or the automatic gear shift lever doesnt carry the neutral sensor all the way on spot ...i took off the top of the sterring column cover for now and now its starting everytime ...so it could be need to go under neath and see if an adjiustment can be made to remedy the problem ...since i bypassed the vats i can use a new ign switch not chipped for chipped keys as the bypass will allow you to automatically have the right ohms resistance to fire the computer up and start the beast ... i still havent taken the top of the column cover off its a bitch to get off ...the bottom cover off and thre top not seated down hard woith screws is allowing ? contact ? for starting cus the gear lever structure isnt limited anymore by covers and oir the unscrewed loose column cover top is allowing slak in the 2 wires coming from the ign switch or the ign switch is not good but then it wouldnt start the car ....yes its no cake walk ..people have replaced battery alternator relay ign switch etc at a huge cost and the dam thing still woodnt start ..not lol ..im gonna gpo with an underneath exam to see where the neutral saftey switch is and whether it is adjusted right or just bypass it ...

Put in a new battery bc the old one kept dying, after replacement the car wouldn’t even start or crank but had power lights worked everything. Tried putting on the cables again, nothing. I’ve tried this once before and it work so I just turned the key put it in neutral turned it till the light were on then gave it a crank and it started right up. Good luck. AAMCO checks it for free they say it is the safety switch PDRLN which is faulty. They charge a lot because they change a lot of staff....all connected but I am decided to give it a try with an inexpensive switch from Autozone and find a good ASE certified mechanic to fix ONLY what is wrong.
