1995 Buick leSabre custom

Asked by Joshsmith1035 Apr 18, 2016 at 02:47 AM about the 1995 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Passenger rear subframe bushings rusted
out. Tried to replace them with Dorman
parts Dorman number 924-043. Sub frame
keeps slipping right through the bottom
bushing to the bottom bolt causing both
bushings to touch. I called General Motors
and they say you need the vin number to
clarify which bushings you need. I'm thinking
the Dorman kit that I bought just wasn't the
right size has anybody else had a problem
like this?
I'm also thinking because my motor is a 3.6
that's too heavy for the Dorman bushings
and I just need original GM parts.
Anyone got advice I'd really appreciate it.

The sub frame is rusted out. You need to weld a large washer to the sub frame or replace the sub frame.

You need to weld thick washers or metal plates that are wide enough that your grabbing metal & the bushings are in there snug I had the same problem had to plate the far back 2 & used thik washers on middle 2 ....What a night mare...... GM should be recalling these cars that they totally messed up on.
