2000 Buick Lesabre cranks, but won't start

Asked by SharpWafflez Oct 19, 2016 at 12:07 PM about the 2000 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning I tried to start my car, and it wouldn't
start. It cranks for as long as I hold the ignition but
doesn't start. No security lights are on, and
accessories power on just fine. Also, when i exited
the car, you can definitely smell gasoline. Don't
know much about cars, but my father does and I'm
just trying to the research

I had a si liar problem and it turned out to be the starter. Many mechanics missed it because it as intermittent, sometimes would start, sometimes not. We went crazy thinking it was a pass key 3 security issue and tried many tricks to teach the key..blah blah blah. In the end it was the starter..the bushings were worn. Put in a OEM one though, so it lasts.
