A/C compressor

In my 2001 Buick LeSabre when I turn
the AC on I hear the compressor
ticking still blows cold but the ticking
noise is annoying

Well, there's 2 schools of thought here. Mine is, I'd buy a new compressor through Rock Auto online and keep it on a shelf in my garage and take it with me if I went on a trip somewhere.in case the old one ever seized up on me. You might be hearing a bearing, or just an anomaly.

The other school of thought is this: You can spend the money now. Buy the new compressor either online or at the parts store or shop, have it installed. Don't forget, you still have to have the freon evacuated from the system, the system cleaned, then recharged after. I think you see why I would wait. The only downfall to the waiting is, if it seizes while driving, you're on the back of a tow truck going to a shop anyway...
