Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My right front tire tread had peeled on me at a high rate of speed and ripped
out my headlight assembly, harness and damaged so of the wires close to
the female connector and female connector as well. I ordered a new female
connector with leads with plans to butt splice to the original wires and had
checked to make sure it was a fit for my car. When i got the new one in i
noticed that the 2 ground wires in ports E and G it was 10-12 gauge wire with
the rest of the wires on new connector look to be 14-16. On the orginal pigtail
it has 14-16 gauge for the 2 ground wires and the rest of the orignal wires
look to be closer to that 18 gauge. Is it safe or even waste of time splicing.
Not sure if it will generate enough amps to run headlight or not.

No problem. You can always go bigger with wire but not smaller.
