My 2004 Buick LaSaber seems to be running very hot.

Asked by Leeottie Jun 11, 2014 at 11:25 PM about the 2004 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I opened the hood and noticed that there was very little antifreeze. I added to the cold line and it disappeared so I put in more. So now it's all filled up again but the antifreeze gage reads 72 when I start and within 2 or 3 minutes it reads nearly 200 degrees. At the same time the motor heat gage reads pasted the half way mark...then I shut it down. Could I have a bad water pump or thermostat ?? Some antifreeze keeps ending up on the driveway, but none is in the oil. Thanks for your help

.Replace thermostat first, may be stuck, then check your pump.
