replacing the motor mount on a 91 buick park avenue ultra

Asked by Larrykinder Feb 19, 2017 at 12:07 PM about the 1991 Buick Park Avenue Ultra FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to remove the motor mount to replace the water pump. It was difficult but
through wiggling, prying and cursing I finally got it off. But now I can't get it
back on. This is the last step in being finished with the project and I REALLY
need help. I have the engine jacked up until the power steering reserviour is
touching the brace at the back of the engine compartment. Do I need to
remove the brace and jack the engine up higher?

Remove the brace or the reservoir if you think it will help. Watch your fuel line or harnesses aren't stretched.

Ken, thanks for the response. But I don't know if it would be helpful to raise the engine any higher. I am actually in the dark on this one. Do I need to raise the engine higher or is there another step I'm missing? Do I put in the fame half first? The engine half? Or do I join them first and put it in a single unit?
