1992 will be a 700r4/4L60. You need a 4x4 tranny, the 2wd truck and car transmissions are different. A 4L60e could be installed as it is the same case but an aftermarket controller would be required to control it. I am personally done with the 700r4/4L60/4L60e's, between my vehicles and people that I know nothing but trouble. I found a 4L80e w/ transfer case (larger output shaft, need T-case and adaptor) from a '94 1/2 ton diesel that I am installing in my '92 half ton. I have the older TCI TCU to control it, the newer FAST EZ-TCU goes for just under $600 and my Tranny/T-case was 750 with 10,000 kms on it. If you go with the 700r4 or 4L60 get a warranty and install a secondary cooler.
Thank you for the reply, but do I use a 700r4 or a 4L60. Do both of these fit my blazer?

Pretty much the same tranny. Either will work for you. Just make sure you adjust the TV cable correctly, it's a common cause of tranny damage.
Thank you guys for your advice, I'm going to start working asap!
Pull down the old transmission and look for parts numbers on the housing of the transmission and match them up
