stalling at start up- 92 3/4 truck

Asked by gc9499 Mar 26, 2010 at 04:31 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet C/K 2500 Scottsdale Extended Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On start up truck will die. Getting harder to restart. Runs fine once driven a few miles, until you shut it off. Then you go through the same thing again( no matter how long it's off). Not wanting to shift on time either( started at the same time the other problem did).

Gas I would assume ... MASS AIR FLOW sensor would affect both systems. Try cleaning it with appropriate cleaner and see if that helps

Wouldn't that cause the check engine light to come on?No trouble lights are on.Thought about checking the codes, but without a light on didn't think it would help. I'll try anything,I use my truck for work and it's pretty useless right now. Thanks for the info.

Finally got it fixed. Ended up being the fuel pump.Still misses a little, but that could be attributed to the 232,000 miles. Thanks.
