I had a problem with my 1990 k2500 running rich. It has throttle body injection and they seem to work fine so i traced the fuel lines back and found that the fuel pump filter inside of the tank was very heavily clogged. I don't exactly know why it was running rich from that but the ecu was stating that it was after i plugged it in. I replaced the fuel pump and used some cleaner for the throttle body and it runs so much better now. I wouldn't check it if you have a pretty good hunch it is something else because to get to the pump you have to jack the bed up off the frame.
