My 2000 Chevy 3500 with 5.7 Vortec won’t run

Asked by 10142 Nov 10, 2018 at 03:24 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet C/K 3500 LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a compounding electrical problem with
my engine. I’ve changed fuel pump, fuel filter,
ignition coil, ignition control module,
distributor. It has started and run several
times in the past week since I have started
having problems but only runs for a while,
anywhere from a few moments to a few
hours.  Now it’s blowing 20 watt ecm fuses
so I can’t get any code reads.

Yes I was blowing Ecm-b fuse I changed crank position sensor and stopped blowing fuses. It ran fine today in dry weather. I am thinking I might have a bad wire in the harness. I don’t know if I have the patience to trace wires all over the engine bay...
