Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is driving me nuts!! It only happens when I accelerate, Truck runs great! and well cared for!! I can accelerate slowly, but if I step on it a little bit more to get on to the high way. I get a ticking noise(like a lifter) from driver side mid engine. Not the crank or the valve train, can not find a exhaust leak. Only happens when I step on the gas mid range. THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!! Any suggestions

Try and determine if the tick/knock matches engine RPM or one-half of that. That will let you narrow down the source. TBH, from your description it sounds like an exhaust leak. Even a pinhole or tiniest of cracks can cause a symptom like yours.
