There are two type of water pumps. One for serpentine belt drive that moves the water in reverse of the other v-belt drive. Also the thermostat can be put in upside down, stopping water that is cold from flowing. If upside down, it prevents the water from flowing when it get hot. Were the hoses changed also when all this work was done?
