Could be the Ignition Control Module under the distributor cap.

wonder if crank wheel was reinstalled before putting timing cover on. if missing it wont get proper crank signal to ecm, see if it has injector pulsee, if no pulse look at crank sensor or shutter wheel that goes on crank

so the other day i moved my 1997 chevy k1500 in my driveway and put my plow on then let it run for a while. I came bacj to it about 30 mins later and it was dead. I tried to crank it but got nothing. after going over everything replacing coil icm ecm crank sensor cam sensor plugs wires complete distributer from cap to oil pump . I have spark but when it it reaches distributer i get no spark to wires. Any ideas? I have never seen this before, im at a loss, please help!! 7 Answers

no spark and the fuel pump doent turn on at first. tested the pump it works even with the bypass wire. new dist., new oil pressure switch
