Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am changing out my 5.0 305 engine for a 5.7 350. I
am using the same intake manifold. What all will I
need to replace that shouldn't be reused. This is my
list so far -
Distributor cap
Distributor rotor
Spark plugs
Plug wires
Intake manifold gasket
Knock sensor
Alternator
Headers
ECM
Oil filter
Engine Oil
Tranny fluid

Someone may know everything you need, but double check on the engine mounts, GM did some strange things...although the 5.0 and 350 are closely related, if you do not use the same year engine/block the motor mount location may have been moved.

Are they both a vortec motor (96+)? If so they are both physically the same and should bolt in. You should consider getting the computer from a 5.7l so it will run correctly. It may lean out trying to run that 350 like a 305
