1996 K1500 parking lamp fuse keeps blowing.

Asked by Ron Nov 13, 2012 at 08:58 AM about the 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 WT LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Parking lamp fuse keeps blowing. tail lights are out, brake and turn signals still work fine. I replaced the
head light switch, now the fuse doesn't blow any longer, but with the keys off the daytime running lights
and dash lights stay on and i have to pull the parking lamp fuse.  Any Ideas of where this problem is
coming from?

Either you got the wrong switch or the lights need shut off somewhere on the switch.

Check for the correct part number for the switch. Make sure the parts place has the year of the truck. Are any wires bare and touching? Proper placement of the wires? Sounds like the problem is in the switch area. Try goi9ng and getting a different switch. Somewhere some Chinese kid didn't build it correctly.
